I hope everyone got some much needed R&R over fall break. We are back at it with the beginning of a fresh nine weeks. Please encourage your students to show your our new online access to our curriculum. It's really amazing. Not only does it give them access to tutorial videos, but it also helps them with each question if they are struggling. 7th Grade will continue to work on proportionality for the rest of the month.  AP will be continuing their work with scientific notation and will be having a test on Thursday 10/25. 8th grade will continue working on solving equations by moving into tow and three step equations before we go on to study inequalities.  As always if you have any concerns or question, please do not hesitate to contact me via email.

We worked hard in our class this quarter on reading and writing centered on The Princess Bride. Students turned out several pieces of work based on the Novel's themes, characters, and challenging vocabulary. Things your students may have had a hand in included, writing love stories, creating short stories in groups, brainstorming and developing time traveling projects for the characters in our novel, bringing them in to today's modern society, and discovering the character development in our novel through exploring the deeper thoughts, feelings, and life events of some of those in our story. We had a good time working independently, in pairs, and in groups this month as we turned out work after work inspired by our Unit!

Wow! Here we are 7 weeks into the school year. Lots of learning going on in our room. I encourage parents to ask their students what they're learning in class. If they say IDK probe further. They need to be able to describe their learning to take it to a higher level. Early release day this today, so class times are short. 8th Grade will be reviewing some vocabulary necessary to continue learning to solve equations. Vocabulary is a huge part of our Math classroom and essential for their success. 7th Grade will be taking notes today and doing the work tomorrow. They are reviewing integer operations to retake their test on Friday. Please encourage them to study, study, study, their integer operations rules. AP will also be taking notes today and working on the lesson tomorrow. Parent Teacher conferences are coming up the 15th and 16th. Please call and schedule your conferences......I look forward to visit with you. We are a team in your student's education and communication is key. As always, if you have any question, feel free to holler at me either via email or text message. 918-533-3439

I'm slowly adding to my website, so bare with me. I do have the link up and going for Google classroom. I will be beginning to introduce the students to our google classroom in the new couple weeks. Once they are comfortable with it, they will be able to find any documents, notes, and assignments there daily.
